About the Institute

College of Engineering, Trivandrum, (CET) began on 3 July 1939 as a part of the erstwhile University of Travancore, Kerala, India. The College campus is situated in Kulathoor near Sreekariyam, 13 km from Thiruvananthapuram Central railway station. Extending over 125 acres of land, it has one of the most spacious campuses in the country.

The main building resembles a spanner from the air, around which are spread the departmental buildings, library block, laboratories, workshops, hostels, a planetarium, staff quarters, and stadiums. The campus is one of the greenest in the country, and has won accolades from environmentalists and nature enthusiasts alike.

In 1990, the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, ranked the College as one among the high ranking institutions in the area of training and placement. Admission to the College is strictly on the  merit basis through an All Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination. Besides the regular B.Tech, B.Arch, M.Tech, M.Plan and MCA programs, the college also conducts Evening classes for B.Tech, MBA and M.Tech classes.

From 21 students in 1939, the College now admits around 750 students every year into 8 undergraduate (B. Tech & B. Arch) programmes and around 450 students in 25 specializations of post-graduate programmes (M.Tech, M.Planning, M. Arch, MCA & MBA). The institution is also an approved Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) centre for doctoral programmes with 130 scholars undergoing full-time and part-time PhD programmes, along with evening courses in B.Tech, M.Tech & MBA programmes.

About the Conference

National Conference on Technological Trends (NCTT) is an interdisciplinary conference targeted to provide a platform for researchers, academicians, professionals, engineers/ scientists, manufacturers, consultants, industrialists, representatives from nodal agencies and students, to share their innovative ideas and work experiences relevant to emerging trends in technology development.

NCTT 2017 is being organized by the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering. The theme of NCTT 2017 is “Co-innovate a Smarter World”. The technical programme of the conference include invited talks and contributory papers reporting original research and development work. A poster presentation is also scheduled during the conference.
